Mediation is a dispute resolution process in which a neutral professional assists the parties in negotiating a mutually agreeable solution to their conflict or dispute. In divorce, mediation usually results in agreements that are
- more quickly achieved
- tailored to the unique needs of both parties
- more satisfying to the parties
- less costly
- less stressful for children
- more likely to be followed by both parties
